Cubakat was set up by the Florida entrepreneur Brian Hall with the aim of providing a low cost, easy and reliable transportation method for people to travel between Cuba and the U.S. Currently, they’re working with officials from both countries to make this venture a reality.

Proposed service

Cubakat are looking to run a four hour round trip high speed catamaran crossing from Marathon in the Florida Keys to Cuba.

The crossing is likely to be operated by the former Bahamas Ferries vessel Seawind with a capacity of around 190 passengers and a few vehicles. The ship is fully air-conditioned, spacious and provides comfortable seating areas and of course an excellent view of the water.
